In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Harrisburg; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Pennsylvania are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 AM–9:30 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Hibachi Buffet Harrisburg at (717) 671-8818; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. The fountain was nice inside. Ice cream was decent. The best thing I had on the buffet was the mushrooms. To me this says a lot since I figured with all the choices that I could find something good. The fried rice had no flavor and a mushy texture. The general tsos seemed like it was made from leftover scrap cuts and had some grizzle and fatty pieces. The hibachi that I had made for me was way over seasoned and salty. Additionally regarding the service I went up for a second plate and the server seemed to think I was trying to dine and dash since I was away from my table for awhile. She found me and said “you pay now” then I proceeded to tell her that I was still eating. This reminded me of a Chinese buffet straight out of the 90’s when everything was basic and there was no competition to elevate the food quality. I had to leave a review since a 4.1 on google was very misleading. Do not recommend, try your luck somewhere else.

Tried crawfish for the first time here! They have so many food options, and the restaurant was packed. Such a great first time experiencing a buffet in the US! ♨️ June 7th 2025

We stopped on our way from (Philly) to a camp for my kids. This place was super mid. The shrimp was kind of mushy and the crawfish wasn’t great. But I don’t know what I was expecting getting shrimp and crawfish at a place next to Harrisburg anyways. That’s on me. The staff were kind and quick. Atmosphere was all right. Everything seemed to clean on the inside, though the bathrooms were a little dirty, which is why I took away a star from atmosphere. I’m glad it was fast, but there are probably a lot of better tasting foods nearby that are also fast. I think I’ve just been ruined with better buffets in other places in the country. Average out cost was about $20 per person which seemed a little pricey, but it is Father’s Day so ‘tis the season.

We tried Hibachi in Harrisburg on our way back home. To start with, you should keep your expectations realistic—this isn’t a 5-star place. However, for the price per person, you get a wide variety of food options, including sweets and live counters. As a vegetarian, I found plenty of choices like salads, fruits, pizza, garlic bread, fries, and ice cream. There is ample free parking, and the restrooms were clean. While the servers may expect tips, that’s pretty common across the restaurant industry. Overall, we were satisfied with the dining experience. Kids are charged at a lower rate—around half price—with a 2-year-old charged $3 and adults $18.

Food is anything you’d expect from any Chinese buffet, the price was reasonable at $18/person for dinner. I’d say the food was still good The server was no where to be seen during the entire meal but when it was time to pay, the server stood by our table to make sure we gave a tip.
